"...My recent purchase of your modular solo has brought me nothing but joy and greatly improved my eurorack- computer communications. Solid clock as well.!"

"... Kenton Midi USB Host to the rescue ... Works a treat, straight out of the box, arrived the next day. What more can I say?"

We don't currently make an internal retrofit for the ARP Axxe although we may do in the future. However the only current option is to use it with one of our MIDI to CV converters.

As far as I'm aware, all versions of the Axxe already have CV, Gate & Trig sockets. If you want to control the Axxe using MIDI, then you will need a MIDI to CV converter and Leads . Each of these is considered below.

1) Sockets
The Axxe is already fitted with CV, Gate & Trig control sockets, which is all you need for control of the notes . The three control input sockets fitted as standard are labelled as follows:

CV IN - This is a standard volt per octave CV input. This is a 3.5mm mono jack socket which should be connected to the CV output of a Kenton converter (set to CV). You will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm mono jack lead for this connection. See leads section below.

Gate IN - This is a gate input. This is a 3.5mm mono jack socket which should be connected to the Gate output of a Kenton converter set to Gate (5V gate voltage if selectable). You will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead for the connection. See leads section below.

Trig IN - This is a trig input for the envelope generators. This is a 3.5mm mono jack socket which should be connected to the Aux output of a Kenton converter set to TR or trigger. You will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead for the connection. See leads section below.
It may not be necessary to connect this to the CV converter.

2) MIDI to CV converter (or USB MIDI to CV converter)
Use this link to see the range of Kenton converters suitable for this model

Kenton MIDI to CV converters

Use the following settings on the converter for this model:
CV - This version requires 1 Volt per Octave control. Set the CV select parameter to CV or Volts/Octave - this is the Kenton default setting
Gate - This version requires gate (5V is usually enough) - this is the Kenton default
Trig - If trig is required you need to set the aux controller number to TR (trigger)

3) Leads

You will need:
3x 3.5mm to 3.5mm mono jack leads
